Recently I had the opportunity to become part of the Pine Grove Area Business & Community Association. For this organization, I created a simple website design as well as a logo design. With this organization being at its grassroots, there was not a lot of content for the site. However, as this organization grows, so will the website.

When creating the logo, I was inspired by the Orwigsburg Business Association’s logo of the street lamp. I then tried to match the style with a tri pine tree setup. While it is pretty stereotypical to have pine trees involved with a logo for Pine Grove, it works for now, and down the road, we might revamp or refresh the logo design.

As mentioned above, this was a straightforward project. While I experimented with the landing page design, I also put together a cool overlay on the homepage. You will see the join us section with an image and a square section of text over the right-hand side of the image.
I’ve actually never attempted this type of stylization. It works well, but the challenge is definitely making sure the colors of the image contrast well with the background color of the square text block. Luckily the bright white and yellows with the deep green provided a beautiful contrast for this homepage section.
