Recently, Brubaker’s Restaurant Equipment partnered with Wes Web for professional website design services to establish their digital presence. They came to us with only a Facebook page and a basic logo to work with and were in need of a custom small business website to showcase their products, highlight their storefront, and reflect their brand. Wes Web created a beautiful, custom-designed website to attract local customers and clearly present their new and refurbished equipment offerings.
Brubaker’s Website Design Goals
Brubaker’s primary goals were to:
- increase the visibility of their physical storefront through local business website design
- highlight their new Migali restaurant equipment products
- showcase their inventory of refurbished restaurant equipment
- establish and define a consistent and professional online brand identity
- make it easier for customers to contact them via phone, email, and form submissions
Creating Logos, Icons, and a Branding Guide
The Brubaker’s logo was fantastic in that it was a simple design that was easy to work with, but it needed some refreshing. As part of our custom web design process and general design services, Wes Web refined Brubaker’s visual branding to ensure consistency across their website, vehicles, and marketing materials. A consistent brand image builds trust and improves recognition, which strengthens a business’s online presence overall.
We also created some icons for their favicon and to display on different areas of the website. Our goal was for these to mimic a kitchen tile, reflecting their restaurant-industry-related business. An example is below from their website footer.
Branding Guide
An important step in Wes Web’s website design process is creating a branding guide, or modifying an already-existing branding guide to fit a website design’s needs. For Brubaker’s, we created a guide from scratch, choosing fonts that complemented their logo and creating a monochrome color palette based off of the blue in their logo. We also provide guidance for using the logos and creating graphics and images.
Wes Web takes a special approach to color palettes that goes beyond aesthetics. For responsive web design, we create a flexible and variable color palette that is used with readability in mind and to add more vibrance to a website. Highlighting the Storefront and Ways to Contact
It was important to Brubaker’s that their storefront was highlighted to attract customers to their location. Wes Web designed the website with a strong focus on local SEO and conversion optimization.
- One the home page, we highlighted how to visit them and put a contact form up high on the landing page so that it’s easily accessible to viewers.
- The About Us section of their website highlights there location, as well as their family-owned history and ways to reach them.
- A contact form and information is embedded throughout their website, especially on product pages, so that customers can reach out with ease in whichever way they prefer: phone, email, or form.
Listing Products with Woo Commerce
One of the challenging but rewarding aspects of this website is the product galleries built and customized with the Woo Commerce product catalog. This solution allows customers to browse restaurant equipment online while keeping the site fast, organized, and easy to manage. While Brubaker’s did not currently have need for or want a full online shopping experience, this integration still allows for a user-friendly display of products to get the word out about their offerings.
We displayed the products in various different ways, from the full product gallery on their main products page to only specified cooking or refrigeration products showing on their SEO-friendly product pages. Paper products are even featured to show the full scope of what Brubaker’s provides. This integration also seamlessly incorporates individual product pages to learn more about a product of interest.
